The Midland Doctors team are becoming renowned for throwing amazing fundraising events, and the Midland Doctors Charity Fundraiser 2013, hosted at the Spot Conference Centre in Derby was no exception! Attended by over 300 people, the total has raised to over £83,000 for Midland Doctors projects – the most we have ever raised at an event.

Highlights included a moving presentation by Midland Doctors Chairman Dr Iftikhar, followed by Dr Ahmed, giving details of the Midland Doctors Village project in South Pakistan and the on-going Midland Doctors Hospital project in the Muzzaffarabad province. Midland Doctors founder trustee Ajaz Najib followed his opening introduction and turned into the master of ceremonies for the evening to drum up support and donations from the guests. It was not long before the donations came flowing in, led by the Mayor of Derby himself, Councillor Fareed Hussain.

The high point of the evening came with the largest and most poignant donation – the gift of a generator for the Midland Doctors charity hospital. With a value of over £30,000, this pushed our total figure raised and pledged to over £83,000. The charity is indebted to the support by key sponsors including: TMC catering, PAK Foods, M. Najib & Sons Limited, Day Night Pharmacy, Regal Bakery, McTurks Kebabs, Shahid Halal Poultry, The Carpet Stop, The Accounting House, Hill Langdell, Mercury Rent a Car, Derby Khidmah Group, Nottingham Cricket Alliance League, D.A.S, Anoki and LRS Claims

We would like to thank all those who attended and gave their support – their kindness has made a difference to hundreds of people within deprived communities, most of whom we’ll never meet.
