Canadian Global Care is a non profit registered charitable organization. The Canadian Global Care Society is a grass roots organization focused on improving the health and well being of under privileged populations within Canada and around the world.
The CGC has been involved with the Midland Doctors Association from very early on and contributed greatly towards the construction of our maiden project the Midland Doctors Medical Institute (MDMI) in Muzaffarabad, Kashmir. They shared our vision to build the earthquake proof facility that provided specialized healthcare to the needy. They played a great part in introducing Midland doctors in various cities of Canada like Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Toronto.
Of the many contributions, the CGC have held fundraisers to collect donations on our behalf and these have led to the establishment of the Ophthalmology Department and the Pediatric Department at the MDMI. Dr. Yasmeen Majid, President of the Canadian Global Care Society was the first Honorary Executive for the MDA and headed the Pediatric Department. Their collective efforts that provided funding for the day to day running of the hospital cannot be overlooked. The Ophthalmology department was created and set up with the purchase of the equipment from the funds provided by Mr. and Mrs. Hemani. The CGC continued to support the staff at MDMI with training in various fields.
The CGC had donated a grant of CAD 25000 towards the Malnutrition Project. This project is designed toidentify children from the Northern regions of Pakistan who are suffering from symptoms of underdevelopment due to the lack of nutrition. To identify the prevalence of various levels of malnutrition, in different regions and provide relief by supplying Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) to the patients under the supervision of the doctors from MDMI so as to improve their health.
The Canadians for Global Care (CGC) have been closely associated with the Midland Doctors Association since our inception and we look forward to our continued partnership.
The Edhi Foundation have worked closely with Midland Doctors for some time and were key partners in managing the Nur Village project.
