An earthquake that was recorded as 5.8 on the Richter Scale shook the northern parts of Pakistan: Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Jhelum etc on 24th September 2019. The Midland Doctors Medical Institute was immediately ready to accept any victims that were injured or needed medical attention. Our premises was equipped to handle relief operations and was available to manage surgeries and medical care at short notice.
25th September 2019
Midland Doctors had monitored the situation on the ground and a well coordinated response was made available by major aid agencies. We provided Water Tanks for clean drinking water facilities as there was severe shortage due to drinking wells being damaged in the catastrophe.
26th September 2019
Midland Doctors continues to coordinate the response to the natural disaster by making a significant immediate donation of Rs 5 million to provide fresh water and water tanks. On the ground our Executive members like Dr. Syed Iftikhar, Mr. Shafqat Hussain and Mr. Tanveer Arif from UK was keenly involved in the work for the smooth and quick communication from the site to the team and to maintain the flow of resources to the site.
The Midland Doctors also contributed crutches and other equipment which was well stocked and kept ready, from the previous experience of coordinating relief measures to earthquake victims.
We have been successful in arranging medical attention to the victims and also financially helping them to return to normal life.
