Day 18…

by | Sep 24, 2010 | Flood Relief, Projects

All the team members gathered at 10am, main Charsadda Chowk, Mardan road  and  discussed the tasks for the day. Everything went swiftly on the way to the affected area. When we got there it seemed hard to handle the crowd that had gathered.  Somehow we managed to get through it, we distributed about 400-500 clothes  (shalwar kameez) people seemed inpatient. Dr Syed Yousaf Iftikhar MDAUK Chairman was present himself and he distributed  most of the clothes himself. The villages we covered included MIAOLAY and THOLANDAY in Charsadda today.
This activity filled the most of the day and the MDAUK team headed back to Peshawar.

Highlights of the day:
500 clothes distributed across 2 villages (which had been made to the spec requested by MDAUK in Karachi). MDAUK was one of the first Aid agencies in the East Midlands Highlighting the problems of insufficient aid reaching Pakistan. MDAUK Stoke sent 1400 food packs and a further 900 were packed today (Thanks Rahim!). The journey from Vietnam to karachi for the life straws is a difficult one due to the lack of space on carriers

Team from Mirpur (In Kashmir) has been assembled by MDAUK to work in the Charsadda region for 8 weeks.

How can I help Midland Doctors®?

We are always in need of donations to help run our charity hospital in Muzaffarabad whilst also participating in many other charitable projects across the world. Of course, not all contributions are monetary. Your time and effort to help fundraise, manage and drive our organisation forward will always be welcomed and appreciated!
