We spent the final day or so travelling through Mirpur which is another city within Azaad Kashmir and the hometown of Ifti and Sajjad. However, having to go around the mountains meant it took us a 4 hour drive via Islamabad to get there from Muzzafarabad. Another early morning start as we leave the hotel at 5.30am to catch our 7am flight to Islamabad. The plan today was to drive to Muzaffarabad, which is a further 3 hour drive from Islamabad, in order to visit the site of the hospital that Dr Iftikhar and his team from MDAUK have been working so hard on building over the last few years. The itinerary for today was to do a day trip to Sukkur in order to visit a camp for more aid distribution, inspect affected villages and more importantly visit two potential locations for the model village we intend to build.
We took the 8am flight from Karachi which was delayed by 1 hour due to bad weather. Sukkur is a city in the province of Sindh about 250 miles north of Karachi. Read more
Another early morning start to kick off the day’s itinerary. The plan today was to visit a hospital and a road side camp in order to visit and help more of those people who have been affected.

After 8-weeks of relentless fund raising for the Pakistan floods and reaching an astonishing figure of around £850,000, the day had to come to actually fly out there as we had promised to really make sure that the precious money raised actually reaches the right people and places.
