Day 16…

by | Sep 24, 2010 | Flood Relief, Projects

Dr Iftikhar Chairman of the MDAUK reached Pakistan Saturday morning and ensured preparations for the third MDAUK team have been completed. MDAUK have been working closely with the PMA (Pakistan Medical Association) to ensure a partnered strategy in Sindh. The third MDAUK team (With UK doctors) took with them 1000 pieces of clothing and 500 family food packs and enough medicines to run a 5 day food camp.

‘It is exhausting, but I am pleased that funds are being converted to direct aid with direct benefit, here and now!’

MDAUK works on a 0% administration basis and had sustained a level of activity that provided relief to 12 sites in the North of the country and sustained a PMA team in the South. At this stage MDAUK switched from an acute to a medium term strategy. Bore hole sites are being sort for wells in strategic areas.
‘There is no point in Duplicating other NGO’s – the gap now is clean water and basic amenities to sustain living in many villages’ said Ajaz Najib. It was time to develop a more focused approach to protect the more vulnerable, especially children.

How can I help Midland Doctors®?

We are always in need of donations to help run our charity hospital in Muzaffarabad whilst also participating in many other charitable projects across the world. Of course, not all contributions are monetary. Your time and effort to help fundraise, manage and drive our organisation forward will always be welcomed and appreciated!
